Disclaimer
The Fox and Heron Literary Society website is designed for entertainment purposes. Fox and Heron (Josie Thames and Christine Anderson, hitherto referred to as ‘Fox & Heron,' 'we’ and/or 'founders') are not publishing professionals and offer no legal advice concerning books, or anything else for that matter. We are always happy, however, to converse on matters of reading, lifestyle, culture, and salon hosting, but please do not take this as any professional guidance.

Affiliates
In 2015, the Federal Trade Commission released their new rules for Disclosure Compliance. These rules are set in place to ensure that readers or viewers of web media (blogs, YouTube videos, etc.) know if the blogger/presenter is sponsored, endorsed, or partnered with a different company. In blog terms, the readers need to know if the blogger is making money by sharing a link or product.

In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site: Any/all of the links on FoxandHeronbooks.wix.com/salons are affiliate links of which we receive a small compensation from sales of certain items.
When a reader clicks on an affiliate link located on our site to purchase an item, the reader buys the item directly from the seller, not from Fox and Heron. Amazon and/or other companies may pay Fox and Heron a small commission or other compensation for promoting their website or products through their affiliate program. Prices are the same whether you purchase through an affiliate or non-affiliate link. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link.
We use two main types of affiliate programs:
1. Amazon affiliate links
FoxandHeronBooks.wix.com/salons is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon properties including, but not limited to, amazon.com. Amazon offers a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links. Each of your purchases via our Amazon affiliation links supports our salons at no additional cost to you.

If a blogger links to an Amazon product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in their “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, the blogger gets a small percentage of the sale. Amazon links are not “pay per click.” If you click on the product link and stay around Amazon and purchase something else, however, I will get commission on that sale.

Anytime you see a link that looks like astore.com/… or amazon.com… it can be assumed that it is an Amazon affiliate link.
2. Product affiliate links
These affiliate links work the same way: if you click the link and buy the product, then the blogger gets a percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Things like e-book bundles, e-courses, and online packages are usually affiliate links, as well. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click”, unless otherwise denoted.
Sponsors
We work to provide unbiased information and reviews. If a post is sponsored by an author, publisher, or any other entity, whether through products or monetary, it will be disclosed clearly at the beginning of the post.
This blog is a place for Fox and Heron founders and members to discuss our love of books. We love to encourage open dialogue in the forum and comments. Please note that all opinions reflect the author of each blog and are not necessarily those of Fox and Heron or any organizations (i.e. publishers, venues, caterers, other book clubs, bookshops, etc.) we with whom work.
ARCs and Reviews
We do receive, read, and review Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) and are honest in our opinions and transparent when we receive review copies. We also strive for accuracy, though we are fallible. We are happy to correct any inaccuracies that are brought to our attention as soon as possible. Please email us with any concerns from our contact page here. Keep in mind that opinions are personal and everyone is welcome to voice differing ones in the comments.

Providing honest reviews and thoughts on reading is what Fox and Heron is based on. Please bear in mind what might work well for us may not work for others. We do not aim to influence people in any way. We are stating personal opinions and experiences with certain products and wish to provide readers with the chance to make their own informed decisions.
